			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>One of the most important components of public speaking is the sound of your  voice. It influences the impact of your message, and might even make or break  the success of your speech. Fortunately, for many people, good voice quality can  be learned.</p>
<h3>Instructions :</h3>
<ol>
<li><strong>Breathe from your diaphragm</strong> &#8211; Practice long and controlled  exhales. When you speak, use breath to punctuate your point. For example, take a  breath at the end of each phrase whether you need to or not. Use that  opportunity to pause and let the listeners absorb what you say.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Use pitch</strong> &#8211; Lower pitches generally are more soothing to  hear. However, modulating your pitch for emphasis will keep your listeners  engaged. Develop your pitch by practicing humming.<br />
 </li>
<li> <strong>Moderate your volume</strong> &#8211; Find out if you speak too loudly or  too softly. When you begin speaking, ask your audience how your volume is (each  situation is different). Try to stay at the appropriate volume throughout your  speech.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Moderate your pace</strong> &#8211; This one is also closely related to  breath. If you speak too quickly, people can’t keep up. If you speak too slowly,  people will lose interest. Record your speech to determine if you need to change  your pace. Get feedback from others.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Articulate</strong> &#8211; Try exaggerating your lip movement to reduce  mumbling. Practice articulating tongue twisters and extending and exaggerating  vowel sounds. Become an expert at articulating tongue twisters as quickly and  crisply as possible. Focus on the ones you find difficult.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Practice</strong> your speech in advance and determine where you  want to pause for a breath. For more emphasis, pause for more than one breath.  Mark your breathing points in your notes.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Loosen up</strong> before you begin. Look side to side. Roll your  head in half-circles and roll your shoulders back. Shift your rib cage from side  to side. Yawn. Stretch. Touch your toes while completely relaxing your upper  body, then slowly stand up, one vertebra at a time, raising your head last.  Repeat as needed.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Posture</strong> &#8211; Stand up straight and tall to allow full lung  capacity and airflow.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Record</strong> your voice repeatedly using different ways of  speaking. Determine which one is most pleasing.<br />
 </li>
<li><strong>Practice breath control</strong> &#8211; Take a deep breath, and while you  exhale, count to 10 (or recite the months or days of the week). Try gradually  increasing your volume as you count, using your abdominal muscles—not your  throat—for volume. Don’t let your larynx tense up.</li>

Motivational speakers charge thousands of dollars to impart his kind of training to corporate executives and staff. It cost me a $12 taxi ride.</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> I had flown into Dallas for the sole purpose of calling on a client. Time was of the essence and my plan included a quick turnaround trip from and back to the airport. A spotless cab pulled up. </strong></p>
<p><strong>The driver rushed to open the passenger door for me and made sure I was comfortably seated before he closed the door. As he got in the driver&#8217;s seat, he mentioned that the neatly folded Wall Street Journal next to me for my use. He then showed me several tapes and asked me what type of music I would enjoy.</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> Well! I looked around for a &#8220;Candid Camera!&#8221; Wouldn&#8217;t you? I could not believe the service I was receiving! I took the opportunity to say, &#8220;Obviously you take great pride in your work. You must have a story to tell.&#8221;</strong></p>
<p><strong> <span style="font-weight:normal;"><strong>&#8220;You bet,&#8221; he replied, &#8220;I used to be in Corporate America. But I got tired of thinking my best would never be good enough. I decided to find my niche in life where I could feel proud of being the best I could be.</strong><strong> </strong></span></strong></p>
<p><strong> I knew I would never be a rocket scientist, but I love driving cars, being of service and feeling like I have done a full day&#8217;s work and done it well. I evaluate my personal assets and&#8230; Wham! I became a cab driver.</strong></p>
<p><strong>  One thing I know for sure, to be good in my business I could simply just meet the expectations of my passengers. But, to be GREAT in my business, I have to EXCEED the customer&#8217;s expectations! I like both the sound and the return of being &#8216;great&#8217; better than just getting by on &#8216;average&#8217;&#8221;</strong></p>
<p><strong> Did I tip him big time? You bet! Corporate America&#8217;s loss is the traveling folk&#8217;s friend!</strong></p>

<p> He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed:</p>
<p> &#8217;Dear Lord:</p>
<p> I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife merely stays at home. I want her to know what I go through. So, please allow her body to switch with mine for a day.</p>
<p> Amen!&#8217;</p>
<p>God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man&#8217;s wish.</p>
<p>The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman.</p>
<p> He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, Awakened the kids, Set out their school clothes, Fed them breakfast, Packed their lunches, Drove them to school, Came home and picked up the dry cleaning, Took it to the cleaners And stopped at the bank to make a deposit,Went grocery shopping,</p>
<p> Then drove home to put away the groceries, Paid the bills and balanced the check book. He cleaned the cat&#8217;s litter box and bathed the dog. Then, it was already 1P.M.</p>
<p> And he hurried to make the beds, Do the laundry, vacuum, Dust, And sweep and mop the kitchen floor. Ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home.</p>
<p> Set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework. Then, set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing.</p>
<p> At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad, breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper. After supper, He cleaned the kitchen, Ran the dishwasher, Folded laundry, Bathed the kids, And put them to bed.</p>
<p> At 9 P.M . He was exhausted and, though his daily chores weren&#8217;t finished, he went to bed where he was expected to make love, which he managed to get through without complaint.</p>
<p>The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said: -</p>
<p> &#8217;Lord, I don&#8217;t know what I was thinking.</p>
<p> I was so wrong to envy my wife&#8217;s being able to stay home all day. Please, oh! Oh! Please, let us trade back. Amen!&#8217;</p>
<p>The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied:</p>
<p> &#8217;My son, I feel you have learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were. You&#8217;ll just have to wait nine months, though. You got pregnant last night.&#8217;</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>But the fact remains – WHAT prevents people from going for what they want?</span><span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>People will come up with reasons like:- &#8220;I don&#8217;t have money&#8221;, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know people&#8221;,</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>&#8220;I came from a poor family&#8221;, &#8220;This country is different&#8221;, &#8220;The economy is not good&#8221;,</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>&#8220;I don&#8217;t have the qualifications&#8221;, &#8220;I don&#8217;t have the ability&#8221;, &#8220;I&#8217;m a girl&#8221;, &#8220;I&#8217;m too young&#8221;, &#8220;I&#8217;m too old&#8221; and many more.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>The interesting things are that people have achieved their dreams even when they don&#8217;t have money,</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>when economy is bad, when they have no qualification.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>In fact they have achieved their dreams in worst kinds of conditions than those listed above.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>And now, an inspiring note : &#8220;If someone somewhere can achieve it, so can you!&#8221; </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>So we come back again, what&#8217;s holding you back?</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Nobody, not the environment, not your family, not your background,</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>not even your girlfriend or boyfriend – It&#8217;s YOU, yourself! </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>What&#8217;s within yourself that holds you back??</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Self-doubt – You are not sure of yourself – you have no confidence in yourself,</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>you actually don&#8217;t believe in yourself and your own ability.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>This is indeed an irony because we are the greatest miracle that was ever &#8220;created&#8221; and</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>yet we doubt ourselves. And most of us tend to hide in our dark side.</span><span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>This is very well stated by Nelson Mandala,-&#8221;Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>We ask ourselves, &#8220;Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Actually, who are you not to be?&#8221; Somehow people seem to be brought up that to expose our &#8220;talents&#8221; is not being &#8220;humble&#8221;. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>I strongly believe that not to exploit our talents make us live a life of hypocrisy and unhappiness.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Only through exercising our potentials are we accomplishing the reasons why we are on this planet.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Do not be like the millions of people who live, walk and died in this life with the music inside them left unsung. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>So, free yourself from the fear of failure, don&#8217;t bother what people say, move on regardless of all rejections.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>If some people reject you or your ideas, which they have the right to, so WHAT! You too have your right to stick to your ideas.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>So move on to the next person. Just do what you have planned and you will be surprised by what you can achieved.</span><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>After all, how do you or other people know you can&#8217;t do it until you have tried ? </span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">Every sound we utter sends out an energy wave that aids in creating our world. With every sentence we speak we are improving or destroying our health, relationships, finances, etc.</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">The most powerful example I&#8217;ve ever heard was a story told to me directly by the woman who had the experience. This woman had developed an incurable disease of the eyes. She was quickly going blind. Her physicians said there was NOTHING they could do. Being very determined and not liking what she heard, she turned to alternative therapies for a possible cure &#8211; something she never would have done had she not been in this desperate situation. A friend recommended she see someone that did crystal healing. She thought that sounded ridiculous but decided to give it a try. During her appointment, the crystal healing therapist asked her to describe herself, her life, etc. and she let her talk for about 10 minutes. Suddenly, the therapist stopped her and said &#8220;Did you know that in the last 10 minutes you said the words &#8216;I hate to see&#8217; 15 times?&#8221; The woman was shocked. She used the words &#8220;I hate to see&#8221; before many things. &#8220;I hate to see the way the world is going.&#8221; &#8220;I hate to see how they<span>  </span>are treating the children in schools.&#8221; On and on she made reference to &#8220;I hate to see&#8221; this or that. This was literally an eye opening experience. She switched her words and now years later has perfect vision.</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">HOW MANY WORDS DO WE USE THAT DESTROY OUR DESIRES?</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">NEVER NEVER NEVER say &#8220;I&#8217;m Sorry.&#8221; Two of the most powerful words in the English language are the words I AM. These words tell every part of you &#8211; your personality, your subconscious, your ego, your spirit &#8211; who you are. They define WHO YOU ARE. Be very careful what you place behind those words. When you say &#8220;I&#8217;m sorry,&#8221; you are saying that WHO YOU ARE is a sorry individual. Replace the words &#8220;I&#8217;m sorry&#8221; with &#8220;I apologize.&#8221; Anyone who eliminates the words &#8220;I&#8217;m sorry&#8221; from their vocabulary will increase their self esteem almost immediately! The same goes for &#8220;I&#8217;m sick.&#8221; &#8220;I&#8217;m tired.&#8221; &#8220;I&#8217;m stupid.&#8221; &#8211; you get the idea. Replace those with &#8220;I feel ___&#8221; and eliminate the stupid comment altogether.</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">SO WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH GOAL ACHIEVEMENT?</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">Another very important aspect of conscious language is the LAW OF FOCUS. What ever we place our attention on is what we create. It&#8217;s important to focus on the positive thing we desire rather than the negative thing we want to avoid. For example, never focus on NOT AGING. Focusing on not aging ensures that you will age and quickly. Instead focus on being healthy, vibrant, and youthful.</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">An interesting and often overlooked part of all this is the need to avoid words that are negating a negative. What the heck do I mean by that? A word like LIMITLESS is actually drawing the subconscious mind to focus on LIMITS. This is NOT what we want. So saying something like LIMITLESS ABUNDANCE is placing limits on the abundance.</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">An example from my own life is the word EFFORTLESS. In the past when I made affirmations, I would typically end them with the words &#8220;easy, effortless, and fun.&#8221; An example might be &#8220;Having a wonderful relationship is easy, effortless, and fun.&#8221; This was actually drawing EFFORT into my life. Since I have eliminated that word and now only use &#8220;easy and fun&#8221; EVERYTHING has shifted. We sold our house in 2 weeks because it was &#8220;easy and fun.&#8221; &#8211; and there was no EFFORT involved. Doug&#8217;s immigration process to the U.S. was taken care of in less than 2 months. There are many, many other examples of how this has made things move very quickly and easily for us.</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:14pt;font-family:&quot;">Review your own affirmations and the words you say out loud or just to yourself and see how POSITIVE you are actually being. It does make a difference!</span></p>
